Eddie and Brian wrapping a ScionAdvertising is a much needed investment that requires long term care and nurturing. A vehicle wrap is no different. Not only is it your mobile advertising, it's also your means of transportation in the every day hustle and bustle. Keeping it in tip top condition is of the utmost importance.

Getting started

The WrapPros at BB Graphics can provide you with an awesome vehicle wrap that will turn heads and bring in business, but that's only the first step. There are a few things that any vehicle wrap owner should know when it comes to cleaning and maintaining a wrap. Whether you're a business owner with a fleet of wrapped vehicles, a one-man shop or just a vehicle owner that wanted a temporary option to make their ride look nice—these tips will help. Vehicle wraps generally last 3 to 4 years but a wrap that is properly cared for can last much longer.

Caring for your vehicle wrap

Protect your vehicle wrapFirst off, you'll always want to avoid washing your vehicle wrap with abrasive or caustic materials. Vehicle wrap vinyl is laminated for protection from the elements and from UV rays, but washing with harsh detergents can damage the vinyl and cause extensive wear that will reduce its life. The WrapPros recommend washing your vehicle using a soft sponge and regular soap and water. Standard vehicle polishes and waxes, as well as buffing, are not recommended. Never pressure wash your vehicle wrap. We can't stress this enough. Doing so can actually tear away at the vinyl and can cause edges and seams to lift. If you've got a vehicle wrap with either standard opaque vinyl or perforated vinyl over the windows, avoid brushing and the use of an ice scraper. A rear defroster can also be detrimental to wrap vinyl. We use heat to remove vinyl so the use of a rear defroster can cause vinyl to lift and peel.

My wrap is damaged! What do I do?

Stressed outIt happens. You know what I'm talking about. It. Maybe your car was in a fender bender, or perhaps a careless shopper really nailed your door with a shopping cart. No worries. Vehicle wraps aren't like cars in the sense that a small damaged area doesn't always require that whole wrapped section to be replaced. A lot of times when wrapping a vehicle we have to overlap vinyl on certain areas. We finish this process up by sealing edges to prevent anything from getting underneath and to keep edges from lifting. We can often times repair a small section by removing only that area of vinyl and reprinting it and then overlapping it. Not only will this save you time and money, the end result is good as new.
